Carer Gateway Support.
Carer Gateway is an Australian Government program providing free services and support for carers.
If you care for a family member or friend with disability, a medical condition, mental illness, or who is frail due to age, then Carer Gateway can help you.
Through partnership with Barwon Health and Merri Health, The Companion Group can provide respite via the Carer Gateway.
Once a successful referral has been completed, The Companion Group are able to support the carer via respite services. This can include:
Before/after school care
School holiday care
Cooking and light domestic duties
Transport into the community
Social support
A helping hand when you need it the most
All completely funded out of the Carer Gateway, so at no cost to you.
Referral Process.
If you are caring for a family member or friend with disability, a medical condition, mental illness or who is frail due to age, call 1800 422 737 or visit CarerGateway.gov.au to get support that is right for you. Emergency respite is available 24/7 on the same number. And if you know a carer, let them know that it’s OK to ask for support and tell them about Carer Gateway.
