The Companion Picnic 2023

The Companion Group hosted our first ever TCG family picnic, and we think it was a raging success!
Our wonderful staff along with their friends and family came along to Rippleside park on Sunday to enjoy the sunshine and catch up. The kids kicked off the day by showing off their amazing cart wheel skills while Saskia and Matt battled it out in the bean bag toss. Lots of laughs were had during the classic egg and spoon race, with some sneaky support workers unwrapping their chocolate eggs for a hidden advantage. The sack race proved challenging for some, with the race turning into a crawl to the finish line instead. The activities finished off with a bang with half of the support workers piling onto the tug of war rope. This battle was short lived with one side coming out victorious in the world's shortest war!

Next up was the new TCG raffle for all those in attendance, with lucky winners Santi and Lisa B claiming the 2nd and 3rd prize, and our very deserving Support Worker Martin taking home the ultimate prize.

Our favourite moments of the picnic were getting to spend time with our Support Workers and their loved ones, particularly to hear stories about some recent adventures they have been on with their participants including a day on the green with Rod Stewart and Cindy Lauper, and attending the amazing all-inclusive ability fest.

We can't wait to see everyone again at the next one.
